I walked into the second module of a cinema critical theory class without having taken the first one. At first I thought everyone in that room would be judging me. When she spoke, Julia sounded so knowledgeable and cool, I was definitely intimidated. One day we were teamed up for an assignment and we ended up filming in the nearby cathedral. I never thought I could have such a fun time in such a somber and cold place. That's when I knew I wanted to be around Julia as much as I could.

With the excuse of going to a music festival, I went to Barcelona and got the chance to meet up with Julia again, months after our graduation in Ireland. She introduced me to her friends and we finally shared our mutual love for drag race. Julia brought us to a little restaurant in a hidden corner of the city and we had the most delicious tapas ever. There's nothing like visiting people who are dear to you in their home country and having them show you around.

Things are usually not as hard as they seem as long as you make an effort and keep your sense of humour. Being confident doesn't depend on diminishing others, quite the contrary, the more you care about people and share meaningful experiences with them, the better you feel about yourself.
