When I started college almost a decade ago (scary!), Dini was a year ahead of my class. We were studying cinema and so I got a chance to work in a short film with her at one point. She was the ultimate girl crush: played video games, baked delicious treats, knitted and had the cutest style. I'm sure I wasn't the only one who thought that, I mean, how could you not find her lovely?

Although we have both left Brazil to live abroad, Dini and I saw each other there a couple of times after moving away. We even spent our holidays on the same island at the same time once. But we really got to bond over taking pictures around Dublin when she was over travelling with her family. The day actually started with a seagull shitting on my head, but then we went for vegan frozen yogurt and that made everything better.

We can adapt to new situations with grace and welcome change as we go - what can look like a limitation might as well be an opportunity for us to learn something new. She also showed me that it's never too late to get into a new habit or fall in love with a new hobby. Who would have known that this cutie had never read the Harry Potter books? She's in for a big treat.
